Many restaurants tend to close early in the evening. Therefore, if you land on a late flight or have spent the day exploring Geneva and its nearby regions, the restaurant you prefer may no longer be open when you’re ready to dine.

It is also worth being noted that quite a few restaurants do close on Sunday

Shops

Most retail outlets are open all day, but many service-oriented businesses take a lunch break from 12:00 to 14:00 during the week.
Most stores, including grocery stores, typically close by 19:00 on weekdays, 18:00 on Saturdays, and remain shut on Sundays.

Even though the city is becoming more secular, the tradition of Sunday being a day of rest remains intact. As a result, please be aware and try to make arrangements in advance to prevent any inconvenience.
